Mount Vista

Recommended Posts

As long as part of the install copies the files necessary for setup to the hard drive before the reboot. I know Windows XP does this.

I dont think it would be....

If ur machine has to reboot to install, then the virtual drive will cease to exist, and Vista will not be able to install from it.

Unless i am missing something.

Did I say it was "illegal" as you called it? Stop jumping to conclusions.

I installed it fine by the way with mounting it, just need to get some emulation software installed on Vista so I can install the rest of the drivers.

Thanks everyone :)

And if I want to beta test it?

I've downloaded it I'm typing from my "warez"-ish Vista and so far I've filled 3 bug reports thru Microsoft Beta Client :)

Satisfied?!

Still cant see why people think this. This topic is in "Vista Beta Place" so of course its going to be about Windows Vista. Unless NeoWin have created a huge forum about a mountain called Vista which no one has ever heard of the in Windows section, which is a bit stupid I think. Use your heads people and you will live a long and prosperous life :p

Yes you can. I've done it three times already. The virtual drive is still visibe.

What program did you use? You were able to install Vista succesfully?

Daemon Tools works equally well. Though i think it's incorrect to say the virtual drive still exists when it reboots; Vista just copies all the files before rebooting.

Erm...

Whistler (codename for Windows XP) is the name of a mountain.

Blackcomb (2003? But definitely an MS codename) is the name of a road coming off MOUNT Whistler.

Longhorn (codehorn for Windows Vista) is the Longhorn Saloon and Grill which is a restaurant just along Blackcomb Road, on MOUNT Whistler...

Now is it REALLY that far fetched that a thread entitled Mount Vista could be referring to a mountain that Microsoft may have named Windows Vista after? It's not like they have a history of doing it or anything is it??

Think before you write!

Sorry to OP for taking this off-topic.
