Recommended Posts

Oh, I can't wait for this release :)

A program manager from the Visual Studio team has made word, via a blog post, that the new version of Visual Studio 2005 (Codename Whidbey) will be released to manufacturing (RTM) within sixty (60) days from today, August 16 2005. Currently, there are only a mere few bugs left and the team is hoping end development on Visual Studio 2005 by mid October 2005. Novemeber 7th is the target launch date.

The August CTPs for Visual Studio 2005 will be released sometime next week and will be made available on MSDN.

Ditto that here. I'm going live with Beta 2, but the debug code makes it SO slow.

It'll be interesting to see what they have for us at PDC2005 in less than a month.

Gah, I clicked the link from the front page so I didn't see the subtitle and thought it was "gold"! :D

Anyway, still good news! :)

Getting close now...

It's such a big improvement to 2003!

From new great core language features, to a vastly improved IDE, to Outlook 2003-style UI (as in its pretty toolbars and menubars) in applications and full native visual style support everywhere, and a brand new icon library too. Finally! What I like most in it might be the new "smart" form designer with autosnap in logical places to make it much easier to develop good UI's quickly. :) And the Managed C++ syntax improvements aren't bad either.
