Msn explorer and notification

Question

My father wrote to msn tech support, and they wrote back they don't understand the nature of the problem. So, I'm turning to neowin for help, because they NEVER understand anything.

i have msn explorer 6.somethingorother, when i installed xp, i updated everything, and the email notification stopped working, as did all of the controls in msn messenger.

it no longer tells me when i have email, and sometimes i don't get my email for a couple of days at a time. can i set it up in outlook or is there a fix or do i have a crappy version of msn explorer?

as for msn messenger, the ONLY controls i can get to work, are my settings, such as whether i'm away, or busy, etc..

it's slowly starting to drive me crazy (i have very little patience for stupid people and things made by stupid people), so if you know of anything i can do to fix it, or if this is a common problem with xp and msn explorer, please let me know

Yeah, I just noticed that she was runnin' 6.10.0016.1624... I thought I had got her to update everything. lol Oh well... I'll make her get 7.02.0005.1700 when she gets back. hahaha And I often forget that a lot of people don't know about the notification.
