huskerpat
I'm trying to change the background color of a theme. I extract the jar file, make my edits, compress the folder to a zip file, and change the file extension back to jar. When I do this, the theme doesn't install. Is there something I'm not doing correctly?
supernova_00
go to tools->javascript console and see what errors are in there, post them back here if you can't figure out how to fix it from there
huskerpat
It doesn't list any errors. When I drag the file to the theme chooser, it asks me if I want to install, the progress bar goes, but the theme doesn't get listed.
tp2215
I just wanted to add a quick comment, if all you are doing is changing the background of the theme then you might want to first check out the authors website to see if there is a line you can add in the userchrome.css to enable it to only use the browsers background or to change the color. Also, there is a little snippet of code on the firefox FAQ that you can add to the userchrome.css to enable it to use background images and the like on the toolbars. Check out this.. http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/tip...olbarbackground
huskerpat
Thanks for the help, but I'm not really getting anywhere. here's what I'm trying to do. I'm using the DRL theme for firefox. the background is a funky green color. I'm also using drl for my explorer bar icons. I'd like the firefox background to match the explorer and ie button backgrounds. I'm attaching 2 images to illustrate what I'm after.
