joe_uk
Hello, I am having problems with videos embedded in browsers: they won't play (except QuickTimes movies) both in IE and in Firefox. Videos loaded from the hard disk play regularly. In Firefox I get the following message: Illegal operation in Plugin. Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library. The pugin performed an illegal operation. You are strongly advised to restart Navigator. I have checked the plugins in Firefox, they all are in place apparently. In IE I don't get any message, the videos simply don't play and Dw15.exe tries to send error data to MS, I suppose. I use Windows 2000 with WMP 9 This problem has arisen a couple of days ago. I tried to think what may have caused it, and the only doubts I have concern my removal of software that I did not use (ICQ and AIM messanger, a third-party video player and some freeware stuff): I might have inadvertently erased something. But I am not sure, it might be a coincidence. Searching in Google, I realized that several people have experienced similar problems. Is there a way to check if everything is in place? I have checked these files: msdxm.ocx wmpdxm.dll wmp.dll they are in the WNNT/system32/ folder. Thanks in advance for your answer, Joe
