Soham
Sometime this September Bungie will be updating the Halo 2 matchmaking service with a number of new features, refinements and improvements. Set to coincide with the release of nine new multiplayer maps, the Halo 2 Matchmaking Update will be a free download from Xbox Live which will update the Halo 2 playlist and offer-up a host of new gameplay possibilities. Included in the update will be a new gametype, Multi-Team, which will see four teams of three fighting it out with a variety of oddities and unusual rules thrown in to keep things fresh. So far we are aware of the following variants: 'Multi-balls' (two oddballs), "Plasma Wars" (Plasma Weapons, No Vehicles, No Grenades, Brute Plasma Rifle start) and "Gulch Wars" (Coagulation only, Scorpions and Warthogs, Human Weapons, BR start), with the latter apparently designed to emulate the experience of Halo 1 multiplayer. We'll keep you posted on the latest Halo 2 news as we get it. Source
