(IE)Favorites Icons Change

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Ok, This has happened I'd say for the last three years, through 4 formats. Every once in awhile, my default favorites icons.. some... shrink. Looks really weird. I can correct the problem by exporting, then reimporting them back. Its just getting to be a pain... Has anyone else experienced this? I've inclosed a photo to show you what I mean... I've scanned many times with different anti-virus programs, scanned with the best known adware/spyware programs... And everything comes up clean. I know it's nothing major.. Just a pain.. Thanks for any help offered.

Look at the ehow, gamefaqs, and google.. see they are smaller compared to the rest.

Uhm can you show a photo showing your way or whatever you want to call it? From that it looks like that folder has it's view set to "list" and not Windows default of "icon." I have my folders set as list and look identical to what that pic looks like.

Because those sites have favicon and for some reason IE cannot show the favicon.

If you prefer to have the standard IE look, you can right click the favorite, select properties, and change the icon. After that the icon for that favorite will not be changed again .

Hello, My folder views in my favorites are set to tiles.. Even in the folders the icons are messed up too... heres a picture..

You know that may be right... its still odd that they would be all messed up like that seeing they should have restored back to the original icon.. and not a messed up version of it.. hopefully IE7 will fix the problem.... Thanks

like it was said above....those sites have favicons....meaning they are supposed to be displayed as their own seperate icon. google has the google G icon, etc...

for some reason your computer is not letting them show their icons...so it's getting distorted for some reason.

No there is actually two or three "IE bookmark" icons I believe. One is blurry, and the other is clean. The reason why the favicon is sometimes gone is if you clear things out of temp internet files. The favicon is downloaded as the page loads. I am not sure why it doesn't redownload after you clean.
