DELTA75329
Hey Everyone, I'm a recent convert to Firefox 1.0.6 on Windows XP Pro SP2 and I could use some help figuring out the only problem I've encountered. Whenever I download an MP3 or an AVI file directly from a website (such as www.ocremix.org) the files come in corrupted and are therefore unusable. Downloading the same files from exactly the same source with IE or GetRight proves the files themselves are just fine. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the way Firefox handles downloads. Or it could instead be my fault: I suspect that tweaking the "network.http.max-" settings in the "about:config" could very well be responsible for this issue; am I on the right track? I have no way to test as I cannot recall the default values for comparison. Any help would be appreciated; thanks in advance for your time.
xSaithx
I downloaded from OCRemix with tweaked settings in Xandros and it worked fine. I suggest you lose that Windows XP crap and get a real operating system :p Seriously, though. It probably has something to do with some plugin or another you installed. You should probably look on google for bugs relating to whichever plugins you have on there.
XIII
I got the same experience. Firefox always marks my files as completed although they are not. In the end, I only got a portion of the complete files. I reported to mozilla but it still doesn't fix it. The best solution is to use flashgot plug-in with any download manager to override the default download manager.

DELTA75329
Update - FlashGot works perfectly.. it seamlessly integrated GetRight's functionality into FireFox without causing any problems or unexpected side-effects. Thanks guys! :)
siddhs
The best part of FlashGot is that it uses all the available bandwidth for downloading a file unlike IE which is really really slow.... --Siddhs
