fvevol.sys = Long boot problem ?

Recommended Posts

I installed and used Vista with no problems some days ago. After it broke (don't ask) I decided to reinstall it. But this time it took about 1-2 hour (much longer than the first time) to install.

When it boots it takes 10-15 minutes by the black screen with the vista logo and the progress indicator (that works). The HDD works constantly during this time.

In safe mode I noticed that this delay is by loading fvevol.sys.

The weird thing is that even when I boot from the CD it takes 10 minutes to go past the black screen, I suppose it's the same thing...

Also the mouse freezes randomly for 3-10 seconds from time to time and everything too.

It's confusing that everything was ok some days ago and now...

If somebody has any idea why plz help...

my specs

Abit NF7S with 1800+

Gefrce Ti 4200

60 gb IDE HDD for Vista and SATA Raid 2x120 GB for XP (I choose to boot from SATA or HDD0 to choose between OS)

SBLive 5.1

Thanks.

Well the specs pretty much explains it. You don't have the best machine to run Vista on.

He said it worked OK the first time. Either his hardware got destroyed while reinstalling or you can't read well. ;)
