Die Shell Audio Player, Die!

Question

This may belong in the Tweaks section, but I didn't think it would reach enough people. I recently upgraded my system and have been keeping a close eye on performance trying to squeeze everything I can out of it. I have been running SiSoft Sandra and 3dMark2001SE and recently noticed a drop in performance. After trying a number of things to narrow it down I finally pinpointed it. The Shell Audio Player that was once part of MS Powertoys zapped about 500 Points off the CPU Arithmetic and a few hundred off the Memory Benchmark in Sandra and atleast a few hundred points in 3DMark. In other words, it is a super huge resource hog. Maybe this was already known, but I thought I'd share my experience.

Believe me, that is the first thing I did. It was handy, but it is good ol' winamp from here on out.
