Help please with Firefox!

Recommended Posts

Ok so i was using Firefox..have been for ages so collected up all my bookmarks and stored passwords etc..

Then right now I closed firefox then I opened it again and it gave a screen saying..Creat new profile..I tried to click on the Default profile but it said it was still in use when it wasn't.

Anyways the only way to open the browser was to create a new profile thing so I did...and now my Firefox is like empty. No bookmarks...no stored passwords or stored website addresses....the theme is the default one now too..and I can't seem to change back to the original profile thing whatever it is.

Please help me someone, it's really bugging me!

Thnx

Id have a look around C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

If theres more than one folder there, then you might still have all your passwords.

When i've copied my passwords from one profile to another before I copied the signons.txt and theres 3 *.db files.

Also in there the bookmarks.html contains all your bookmarks.

OK the default place firefox creates your profile folder is

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

So if you have just created a new profile, a new folder should have appeared there.

Its usually a random number.default

Im hoping there is 2 folders there, one with your old profile that wont load, and the new one you've just created.

You need to copy the files i said, from the old one, to the new one.
