SergeantNoob
As far as I know it's hard coded into one of the system files.
JRosenfeld
I don't think you can change the text, but if you go to Microsoft update site and let it download and install its activeX component, subsequently clicking on Windows Update in IE drop down menu will automatically redirect to Microsoft Update. I also found that the Windows update shortcut on my start menu was changed to Microsoft Update (the target for that shortcut is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\muweb.dll,LaunchMUSite; and the required muweb.dll version is installed by the Microsoft Update activeX component). Darkcode
Why would you want to edit that for? to link to some other buggy windows update? and i think u edit something in like: C:\WINDOWS\system32\muweb.dll coz the link for windows update on the button is: C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\muweb.dll,LaunchMUSite
Nexus-
everyone here has it all wrong. at most you just need to reshack your internet explorer exe and change the name. as stated the link may be a bit harder to change but it takes you to the MU site anyway so why bother. Edit: i take that back im not sure how you would do it the menus dont show up in reshack. Edited September 12, 2005 by divertom15
