Timelimit
hopefully adding the words hot and women got your attention :D heres my problem: damn its 12.16am, and im tired and im still struggling with this pc :( ( i wish i was at home with mine, always nice and stable :D) right... problem is, im trying to fix this time pc. its useing an msi 6195 mobo which should take up to 768 pc100 ram. it cam originally with 2x128, but it turns out one of the 128 sticks is faulty. so i thopught i'd just replace one of the 128's with a 256 stick. thought it'd be a standard open ---> swap ----> close job....that was a few hours ago :( for some damn reason the ram wont work! if i remove 1 128 stick and leave the other in the machine, the pc will freeze during boot up :( (just says checkin nvram and freezes there) same thing happens if i put the 256 stick on its own. i cant figure it out. at first i thought it might be cos the 256 is pc133 and the mobo only takes pc100, but surely that aint rigt? and also why will it only boot up when both the 128 sticks are present rather than just 1? even if i put both 128's and the 256 (total of 512) it still freezes! i was hoping to update the bios to see if that does it, but this aint my pc im fixing, so id rather find out how to back up the bios before i trash it? any suggestions or possible solutionss????? please guys, help would be really handy :D thanks

Keldyn
The board may not support table free memory...of course, i'm just guessing. If you know the exact mobo type or happen by chance to have a manual for it, consult it and see what it does and does not support. Alternatively hunt down the mobo online and read up on ram placement etc....
