Nothing bothers me more than people believing idiotic ideas like life after death.

It is simply an absurd idea - if you just start thinking logically about death you will see that it is the end of everything as far as that person is concerned. Believing in one of the thousands of ignorant superstitions that people have come up with since prehistoric times does not make them true - infact... it makes you ignorant.

Live your life as best you can as that's the only life you get.

I believe something unfathomable occurs after we die. I won't even attempt to think what it is. But the cycle of human life greatly alludes to a continuance of it after the body dies away. Whether a spirit or energy or collection of it all is the "life" that continues.. I simply don't know. But all things in this world have lost their original look and form completely but gone on to supply life to other new and good things.

On the same token, I don't feel compelled to find out what comes next or get the sensation "I have to know!". As a flower has much to share and do in it's life before it's petals and stems fall away, so does each person. It's a nice time.

As for you - the question was what YOU believe. Not telling everybody how they're wrong with your low-grade opinion.

There is a belief we each have on this topic, some wonderful and bright, some confused and some doomfilled. All those beliefs really say is something about who we are. And you talk like a rotten curmudgeon.

There is no definitive answer any one of us possess. You purport to have it. I'd suggest you don't.

And by the way, the only possible way you could know that there is nothing after death is if you've been there. And if your theory is correct, you couldn't be here now as there's nothing after death. :p And if you don't believe in ghosts or spirits or any 'other world/after death life' then where do you get your information?

That's right. From yourself. And your own guesses.

Not facts.

Ruby

Edit: Apologies to the topic starter for getting slighty off topic. Thank you for the question! :)

After death we grow wings.

We get nice white gowns to wear.

We float about on clouds, (if we've been good), and play heavenly music etc.

Apparently there's a huge kind of University up there where you learn wisdom and they can play back your life like a kind of movie for your further moral enlightenment and personal growth.

If you've been bad in your life, you are punished in the afterlife for ever and ever amen. The varieties of suffering available do not bear thinking about, suffice to say that you had better be good in this life and think kind thoughts because otherwise it will be like the historical Roman Catholic inquisitions, tortures, and persecutions all over again, only it will go on and on.

I know I'm going to be getting a set of wings, because I only think kind thoughts about everything and everyone.

I try and smile a lot.

The World After the Death? What's with the odd cappage? Not to mention the odd wording. It makes it sound like you're talking about something other than life after death.

Yes, that's right, after death. Not after the death. The death? I don't think I've ever heard 'the' before 'death' unless 'of' is soon to follow.

P.S. The only thing ridiculous about this whole question and field of thought is that people aren't even sure how to define 'life' yet. This question is level two when nobody's even started on level one yet.

This is an interesting question indeed. I beleve that if we have walked the right path (whatever that is for each of us) that we may see somthing on the "other side".

Those who dont are forced to re-walk that path again till they get it right. (reincarnation).

I read in a book by Frank J tippler (famous physicist) saying (with mathmatical proof) that in x years that pc's will be strong enough to re-produce every human that ever was. Re-produce their dna and other such stuffs. That we would be reborn this way.

If anyone wants to read the book its the Physics of immortality

No.

Even if I was religious, I wouldn't believe in such a silly idea, because it's what most religions use to keep a rein on their followers. We're selfish beings after all, what better bait than immortality of your "soul"?

No.

I see no loigical reasoning, nor evidence to suggest why some form of life continues after death. Only speculation by indviduals, and what a cynic might call, propaganda spread by Churches of all religions to keep the masses in-line.

This doesn't mean I don't repsect people who follow a particular religion. I have many religious friends, and I respect their beliefs, just like they respect my belief that their is no life after death.

There was nothing before I was born and there will be nothing after I die. I just consider that I am lucky to have a chance to live, I couldn't expect to have it (sounds weird indeed). I just ask myself why we are like that and we have a conscience, we are a lot developed. Where is that come from?

well, i do wonder sometimes about why is it that humans just can?t accept the idea that they will stop existing...

is our ego that big? maybe we just die and thats it... at least that is what i believe
