Just went and purchased this from a dealer in North Acton (North London) It took 2 hours to get there, but was well worth it.

Its a Volkswagen Polo E 1.2L 2003 Reg. I must say, it has quite a bit of kick for a 1.2L.

Snatched this at ?4900. It's got a 5" crack at the bottom of the windscreen (I shaved a bit off the price for that:shifty:), a few minor dents and scratches, but the interior is almost 100%. The only bad thing about it is that it hasn't got electric windows, but nevermind.

Just wanted to share because I'm excited:laugh:: Anyone else got a Polo here?

Until 2000 i had a Polo 3 1.0l.

Was a damn fine car. Didn't need much fuel (on a trip do Danmark only 4l/100km).

But your steering wheel is on the wrong side. ;)

Not in the UK guys, a 1.2L is pretty standard going. The largest standard car which is not a 4x4 in the UK is probably something like a 1.8/2.0L engine. They don't get much bigger unless you have a pretty special car.

If you are my age, you can't really get insured for anything above a 1.4L/1.6L unless you like paying ?3000+ for insurance.

Thats a tiny V6. You can get 2.5L I-4s in several cars now, so a 2.9L V6 is comparably tiny (for having two extra cylinders)

Hell yeah. The worst bit was the back wiper, shredded me up a bit as it got caught. Wing mirrors were a pain too.

We both know who got the right car:p:p As long as it can get from from A to B with a cross between comfort and speed, which is reliable and will last me a good few years, I'm happ:):)

Remember US people - petrol prices are astronomical here, so that came into the equation too.

Theres nothing wrong with having a car that gets good mileage. I was wanting to get something with a V6 or an older V8 that I could work on, but with gas prices sky rocketing over here, I went ahead and got a 98 Civic (1.6L). Its light and a little bit quicker than I was expecting it to be. Not a bad little car.

and... let me guess, the 2.5 I-4 is small aswell?

A 2.9 VR6 'Raddo can do 0-60 in around 6 seconds

Nice, I have a mk4 Golf, and the stuff you can do to VWs is just silly.  They certainly make the most out of the 1.2 engine too.

Congratulations on your new car dude.  VW all the way baby, yeah!

Fancy some 15" alloys on the cheap? ;)

586440943[/snapback]

you can get some 14" original polo alloys on eBay for around ?150;))

14" is too small for anything. My sis has 15s on hers and it finishes the Polo so nicely.

Over 60? You will easily get a ton outta that with no problems.

And mileage - you should get about 11-12 miles per ?.
