Guest deadzombie
Set it on fire and send me the digital pics so I can make a Website about flaming PC's. It will be nothing but a place encouraging people to set their old PC's on fire and send in their pics.
Jessterw
I tend to use my older systems as workhorses. I am currently writing a program that allows me send downloads and other tasks of that nature to a workhorse system. A friend calls it B*tchslap. :p

aem4162
Using it as a firewall, server, Linux machine, and to learn about hardware are all GREAT ideas. You could also see if any charities can give it to someone who can't afford a computer. Are there any kids in your family who want a computer? There's a lot more constructive things to do with an old computer than destroying it. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D anita
+BudMan MVC Posted July 10, 2002 MVC Share Posted July 10, 2002 You didn't say how big of hard drive you have for it - if you got any type of space. Put linux on it, create a samba share - and use it storage for download files, a music server, ISO images that can be mounted for use as CD's There are million things you can do with it - hey put one of the FREE BBS packages on it - setup telnet to it, run some old BBS games people can telnet too and play :) (TradeWars, BRE, etc.) Set it up as a Chess Server - people could telnet and play one the many FREE engines running on a P100 with 16Meg - they might be able to win with only that much horsepower ;) Use it as storage for all your illegal software :ponder: - With a self destruct system built in so that if the Feds break down your door, push of a button triple wipes the DATA and sets the machine on "FIRE" - make sure you have the webcam setup to catch the pictures to send to deadzombie ;) The options are boundless - use your imagination!! -BudMan
