Laptop
I like to update mine once I month from the latest-trunk :) http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir...y/latest-trunk/
Malisk
I'd personally recommend using the branch as 1) it's the one that should receive tester focus, as its the builds that will become the next release (Firefox 1.5), and 2) it's generally more stable. Anyway, answering your question, I update mine quite irregularly, and mostly after how the status for the branch looks at The Burning Edge. If there are no regressions or other issues "in red" there, I may update whenever I go there which can sometimes be daily, but sometimes more like weekly. My current build is two days old so pretty young, but that's because the branch is pretty good looking right now. :) I started updating more often because both the branch and trunk builds can now be updated inside Firefox itself by picking Help -> Check for Updates. No more downloading and running installers / exctracting zip's necessary. One may have to do these tweaks to use their new system though.
Malisk
Yep, that's a correct observation. I see a beta delay. ;) Not that it matters much for people wishing to run cutting edge versions; that's what the nightly builds are for. Betas are mostly for paranoid users thinking it'll crash their system, but I can assure you at least the branch is pretty stable now... Haven't checked the trunk since the split. P!P
It's says Beta 1 and Beta 2 are supposed to come out in August. It's August 28 and still no Beta 1.
JustGeorge
It's says Beta 1 and Beta 2 are supposed to come out in August.? It's August 28 and still no Beta 1. 586443061[/snapback] Open source and release schedules don't seem to play well with one another. I'm growing old waiting for FF 1.5, OOo 2 and Gimp 3. IceDogg
Most of the time I update mine once a day. If however, there is a problem that gets fixed in an hourly build I will update to that so I don't have to endure the problem all day. I also now use the auto-update (partly to help test it) and it's much easier to keep things updated that way. I can't wait for this to be fully implemented. xpgeek
I update, to the Branch's now, maybe once a week or so, after checking the mozillazine forums and the burning edge and making sure theres no major probs I can't deal with. Like the Gmail compose editor was broken for a while, stayed on 7-30 until it was fixed. On 8-26 Branch now and not having a single problem. And its soooooo fast.
