cropcircles
Installed the latest beta sound driver from Creative yesterday and got Winamp installed and working with great sound. Today I turned on my PC and got an error message stating, "Winamp has stopped working" and its working just fine playing music. If I click cancel or the X in the corner it shuts down Winamp. Also after rebooting my bookmarks are missing in Firefox and the default theme is showing. This has happened each time on reboot. I've gotten the BSOD a couple times stating that if I've gotten this message that I should uninstall any recently installed programs! DA! Beta's are a pain in the you know where. Any solutions to the microsoft error message showing up. I thought I disabled that in the registry. Also the Security Center will reappear in the toolbar after reboot after I've un-checked the "alert me" boxes. What is up 5112. Is it possessed!. Do I need to contact the boys from TAPS to come look at my PC for paranormal activity. :)
Commodore Max
5112 isn't possesed. It's a very early Beta build. You cannot possibly expect everything to work as if it was on XP. If there is a bug or a problem, submit it to Microsoft on Connect for consideration. Since 5112 is a "private" beta build, with very vague information (driver-wise) available on the internet, there is not much we can do here to help you. My only advice to you is the same I've been giving everyone recently: Try to reinstall your drivers manually in the Device Manager, try the supplemental driver pack, and for god's sake don't install Vista on top of XP !
