It's actually a problem with the id3tag v2 Winamp uses.

When on Winamp, press ALT+3, then ALT+2, then ENTER. ALT+3, ALT+T and ENTER again.

You have to do this to every file... :(

Actually what I told you to do is to delete the id3tag v2 from the file, then update, then copy it from the v1 to the v2 and then update the file again.

I sincerly don't know if there's a faster way to do this, never searched for it as far this works I'm happy enough (plus, I registered Tag&Rename, damn I love that tagger). ;)

if it has always done this, it may be an issue with the ID3 tag... right click on one of them, go into file info, and check it out.. if there is an ID3 tag, winamp will use that instead of the file name...

hope this helps

well when I click on a file and click File Info, I can dissable the ID3v2. Then it works, BUT then the files don't work well in WinXP, for exemple the genre is than just a number.

can't I do something that the boths things work?

but seriously, is Fedr0 right?

Is the genre supposed to be a number in WinXP?

Or does any-one know a patch or plug-in for WinAmp, so it will use ID3v2?

No, man. I meant that the custom Winamp 2 id3tag v2 is recognized as a number in Windows XP. In fact, if you right click and edit the properties of the mp3 in XP you can insert the genre you want.
