command+shift+3 or use a prog like snapz pro x which is tops as you can make quicktime movies of certain progs, full desktop screenshots, specific parts of the desktop, or specific programs

There's a wh0le list of these.

command + shift + 3 = Whole screen saved to a file on desktop

command + shift + 4 = Selection saved to a file on desktop

command + control + shift + 3 = Whole screen saved to the clipboard

command + control + shift + 4 = selection saved to the clipboard

I've found command + control + shift + 4 th most handy recently. Just copying sections of the screen and pasting just that part into my college work. Very handy.
