Opera to be Free

A friend received his key

edit: He put: "ad-free version of Opera" in subject and:

"Can I get an ad-free version of Opera?

Thank you!" in the body.

I'm not sure is there any relation, but he received it immediately even-though he sent it long after me.

if they made it free it would instantly transform the usage of the software overnight. many people would use it now if it werent for the adverts or having to spend money when there is many free alternatives.

if they did go down that road i wonder what they'd do to compensate those who have bought it along with all the entitlements that brings for future versions. i was led to believe when i bought my copy it was for that and all other upgrades in that version number?

edit: Yeaaahhhh works!!! Just put: "ad-free version of Opera " in the subject and "Can I get an ad-free version of Opera? Thank you!" in the body.

I did it and received immediately.

I don't believe you. I've sent two emails so far, one had a body/subject very similar to the one you described and i haven't received anything yet.

Sent an email to them at 12:05 from my Gmail, nothing. Did what f45 said and about 20mins later this showed up:

No clue why my first email didn't come, but I'm happy now... Thanks a lot :D.

huh. Interesting Fog Dogg.

I don't feel this is fair though. I've sent them two emails (one about 15mins after 12:00AM PDT and one about 90mins after that) and NEITHER have received responses.

It seems to me that they should hand them out in a first-come-first-serve basis, even if they ARE giving out unlimited numbers of registrations for the entire day.

Yet I still haven't received one...
