WinXP Restarting and Shutdown

Question

Hey guys. I dunno what's wrong, but

a) Sometimes when I try to shut down or restart my computer, it doesn't want to.

b) When I fire up a game, sometimes, while loading, my computer just reboots by itself.

I have no clue what it could be. Any ideas?

it's probably broken. is that vague enough for you? :D

sounds like it might be video card related...drivers possibly, since it's rebooting when you start a game...could be time for a reformat. what os are you using?

Im using WinXP. Format is a worst case scenario for me. Its not my vid card (physically) for sure, cuz my dad's hard drive works fine. I doubt it's the drivers too...

have you scanned your comp for viri?

maybe you are lacking space on the hd?

have you done the winxp repair procedures?

lets ..what else

have you tried different driver for your vid card? updated and restored old ones?

if u coppy the 00x0000000A error whatever (just example) code, and do a search for it. u can find out what may be causing your error.

my problem was bad ram. a stick of 128mb that went sour.
