Are you sure, can you back it up with an official word from Microsoft?

Also, it is referred to as the Professional Developers Conference (PDC).

I believe the rumors is that a beta 1 refresh is in 2 weeks...but I can't confirm, but PDC might be looking good...where is it this year?

I hope they have a refresh, that would be great! It's in LA again.

nothing official, but the rumor is we will see a 5219 build at PDC...

Thats just an internal build, don't spread rumors like that. Just because an employee comments that they don't see the bug in the present 5219 means it is the expected. Builds are compiled today and 5219 could be a part of range.

There *will* be a release at the PDC, unless Microsoft changes it's mind. I think there was a chat transcript or something of a PDC rep saying there would be an interim build released.

Wait until you see how much software you'll get at PDC05. Along with the latest builds of Windows Vista? and WinFX, you?ll get a last-minute release of Visual Studio 2005. We're at 10 gigabytes already, and counting. You may need to check this in as baggage on your way home, so strap yourself in and head to LA for the ultimate download.

I wasn't going to respond to this, but I just have to know...What they heck are you saying?....

If you have information that the PDC build will be something else by all means tell us.

If not, why discredit someone else? Which it isn't even clear that is what you are doing.

I just don't get it....

Windows Vista Build 5219 Ready for the PDC

The Windows Vista code tree was recently forked between the version Microsoft will give out at the PDC (Professional Developers Conference) 2005 conference and the version that will become Beta 2. The current PDC build--build 5219--could very likely make it into the greedy little hands of attendees, and it's got a couple of interesting surprises: It includes the infamous and once-missing Sidebar and has the Tablet PC and Media Center functionality enabled. And fear not, people. You've been waiting to hear which product editions Microsoft will ship in the Vista time frame, right? That announcement is coming next week. Stay tuned.

5219 is just a rumor, nothing else, you are jumping on it like its the real deal. Its the same thing all over again that had happened with beta 1, everyone claming b1 was going to be 5203. Lets not encourage these rumors about "rumor is its 5219", "rumor is its 5555". Just wait until PDC, 11 days can't kill you waiting.
