ThalSwe
I am glad they let it be on a bit longer since it turns out that I like it over FF and I used to be a FF-fanboy. :p Good that things change sometimes :D

Litespeed
I like both but I find that the UI is much snappier in Opera on my PIII system at home. The startup time is a bit longer than I would like though. I'd use it at work but it doesn't support NTLM which is a pain.
Quillz
I love Opera. It has the "get up and go feeling" that Firefox has, but Opera is like Mozilla Suite, in that's it's really an all-in-one browser. Plus, Opera has tons of built-in goodies, such as mouse gestures, that are typically Firefox extensions.

Opera should start up a lot quicker now :)

Problem: Overall slow performance. Possible Cause?: Packed EXE and DLL files (using ASPack). Solution: If you are running a anti-virus that checks files in real-time "on open", this may become a issue (although users disagree strongly on this). Kaspersky is one example of such software that some users have had trouble with. If you are worried, try to setup your AV software not to monitor Opera folders. This type of checking could considered over-paranoid and slows down your system somewhat. Note that you will increase your vulnerability to infection. Because this is a very unlikely source for any performance problems, it is almost certainly not worth the extra risk involved . SourceProblem: Opera startup takes a long time.Cause: Opera may be slow to start if you have a large global.dat file (found in your profile directory. If this file is larger than 500K, the slowdown may be noticeable. Solution: Preferences ? History and cache - change "Visited addresses" to 500 or even 100. Try clearing history (Preferences ? Advanced ? History) and 'clear' Visited addresses, to regenerate this file anew. To be absolutely sure, try deleting global.dat manually (it is found in your profile directory)in case it has become corrupted. Source

JustGeorge
Opera is now my default browser but after a few days use, I now have some gripes. 1. Can't login to OWA to check my work email. Login format not supported. Somewhat laughable since FF is free and supports this. 2. Cannot rearrange the order of my favorites as they appear to be stuck in alphabetical order. FF also supports this. 3. Cookie handling is rather glitchy at times. If I clean my cookies, login to Neowin, close the browser, restart Opera, it shows I need to login again. Whats weird is that I can go to my control panel and back to the Homepage and it will then show me as logged in as its supposed to. 4. Cannot just simply right-click on a fav and delete. Makes you use the bookmark manager. 5.JavaScript is hit or miss on one of my favorite tracker sites.
jedrzej
2. Cannot rearrange the order of my favorites as they appear to be stuck in alphabetical order. FF also supports this. open the bookmark panel. You can rearrange your bookmarks there in any fashion you want. Just see through options in the panel "viev" menu. 3. Cannot just simply right-click on a fav and delete. Makes you use the bookmark manager. use the bookmark panel. 5.JavaScript is hit or miss on one of my favorite tracker sites. try mozilla compat/spoofing mode.(F12->Identify as Opera or Mozilla<<**** is that Opera masks itself as IE default and in my experience it does more harm than good. Since I'm ID'd as Opera, I haven't seen a site that does not work with Opera, and which isn't purposely blocking it>> temporarily, and if that works, you can setup this permanently through ua.ini)
JustGeorge
Well, I tried the bookmark panel as you suggested and it didn't let me change the order of the favs at all. I couldn't drag or copy/paste the fav links. It appeared as though it was going to let me place the fav somewhere, but as soon as I let go of the button, it just stayed in its original location. Even if that worked, having a panel taking up screen realestate sucks ass. There is no logical reason not to allow the user to rearrange favs and delete bookmarks from the standard bookmark tab. I have Opera set to be identified as Opera, not IE. Not sure what you mean by the neowin.net url thing.
