Hmm .. well, Im using right now ... got in on the free Adless one day promo, and I must say, that it's pretty decent.

For some reason .. IE always loads faster, and renders more pages correctly, but Ill give the "O" a spin for a bit.

That free promo seemed to have worked.

Just curious.

Anyone using or tried using Gecko with Firefox?

Are you unable to comprehend that there are people out there who have different tastes than you, who also happen to be perfectly sane?

Ehmm.. hello?

Firefox uses gecko.

It's like saying: Anybody using or tried using batteries with the remote?

Edit:

And no, I didn't switch. Firefox all the way. (Be it Win, Linux, Mac)

I got the free licence code, but I'm sticking to Firefox. However, Opera has improved a lot recently and if they can fix its shortcomings and improve it further then I may well switch in the future.

i switched.

Lots of nice features.

Page load faster than anything I've used.

(try opening deviantart.com for example)

I like the mouse gestures idea.

The fast forward button is also usefull.

One thing I dont like is that when you drag an image it saves its link to the image and not the image itself.

I switched to Opera from Mozilla FireFox soon after I received my free registration key from the Opera's 10th year anniversay reg giveaway. I'm liking it so far.

I have used IE now for close to a year without any issues at all.

Granted I do the majority of my "hardcore" web use on my Mac so I use Safari, and luckily really have nothing to worry about in regards to spyware and adaware, at least right now, but I do use IE whenever I am on my Windows comp, which for the record I am posting from right now.

Common sense and Occasional Maintenance goes a long, long way when using IE.

I really think people who have issues with IE experience the infamous ID10T errors more than anything else.

Also before people cry bloody murder, there are just 2 reasons I gave up on Firefox. Reason #1 is sometimes I am just plain lazy and instead of hand typing my text Tags on Neowin, I like to click the buttons on the top of the text box. When I did use Firefox (I tried some Betas and the first official Release) it did the same thing Safari used to do for me, and that is insert the code at the end of my text. Reason #2 is FF always gave me issues with Fileplanet. Since I am a subscriber to Fileplanet, and the fact that besides posting on Neowin I only use my Windows comp literally just for gaming, I went back to IE and never tried FF again. I am sure by now they fixed whatever the issues were with Fileplanet, but again IE has never done me wrong so I feel if it aint broke, there is no need to fix it.

Back OT, I did get my free code for Opera yesterday, and I like it so far, especially since I am accustomed to Tabs since I do use Safari so often.

If anything, my one and only complaint about Opera, and I am sure I am going to get slammed for this comment, but Opera almost seems a little to robust. Let me explain...

I really, really like, and prefer, simplicity in my applications. I am by no means saying that using Opera is rocket science, far from it, but I did find myself spending more time on tuning the preferences to my liking (which I never did finish BTW), than actually using the Browser itself.

With that said, I am still going to give Opera a fair shot. What I have seen so far I do like.

EDIT - I just went and downloaded something from Fileplanet using Opera, and I really, really like the Transfers Tab. That alone has me leaning towards it, truly and sincerely.

Same here. I didn't switch over to Opera but it's not that bad of a browser.

My thoughts too.... I gave Opera a fair shot, about six months worth, and it is nice but i prefer the way FF handles my bookmarks layout and the ability to only use text instead of icons, which I prefer btw.
