themacguy
Is there any way to recover them? The thing was that my dad was installing some plugins (at least thats what he thinks), I think it was Java or something like that. He then quit Firefox and when he started it up again, the home page thing was changed and all the bookmarks were gone. Sorry for the lack of info- thats all he could remember. Anyone have any idea what happened?
ZappBrannigan
Have a look in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Search for a bookmarks.html, make a backup of it, and import it.
boynamedfoo
Try this: Start > Run -> "firefox.exe -profilemanager" And see if there is more than one profile (other than default). If you start FF with another profile then your bookmarks should be loaded.
IceDogg
I don't know for sure if it's true or not, but I have read that if you make you bookmarks somewhere outside your profile then if something happens (to your profile) your bookmarks are safe. Copy your bookmarks file to another location (like C:/bookmarks.html). You can do this in the about:config (type that into the address bar) and then do a search for browser.bookmarks.file right click and modify and enter the location you moved your bookmarks.html too. I know this doesn't help now, but can help for the next time.
