Is there any chance to see the header part of the star menu compact like it was in LE3. Other than that I'd say LE4 is nearly perfect. It's the best VS I have ever used and I thank you for that. :yes:

hey em3 why is when you change the font of the active/inactive title bar you loose the new min/max/close button graphics?

id also like to see these buttons a little smaller in the compact mode :yes: :)

Tested and: shellstyle fits badly in white; same for a (soft) grey scale I tried.

I'm going to stick with the original gradient and start to work on the black version.

Youve got to keep the title bar size at 26. When you change font face or size this value usually changes, so before you click OK set it back to 26.

Here is my little *personal* mod I did.. if em3 will consider it necessary, I'm sure he'll include this himself.

I think userpic should be removed from compact version as well.

This is realy nothing special, just desaturation of 'golden' elements and some background added to startmenu. :)

I'd never write LE3 off as its still an awesome VS. LE3 and LE4 are equals in my mind.

I completely disagree. When I look back at LE3 I can't think of going back to it, at least by now.

LE4 has uncountable better looks and improvements.

They both have appeal in different areas. Some prefer the olf LE3 start menu, while others like the Vista look of LE4. LE4 also lacks a soft shaded variant of LE3. That doesn't mean LE4 isn't complete, just different. I can see myself floating between the two for a longtime. All other VSs tend to get cheezy and old over time and em3's work hasn't.

I dunno what to think of it...its beautiful :p

The one thing that i liked better in LE3 is the start menu colors, i don't really like how its white where the frequently used programs are and i loved the old highlighted menu item color as well. Its still an awesome improvement though. Nice work em3, you could teach microsoft a thing or two :)
