RightfulSpire
fact is one of the presidents roles for this country is support for the people, a more or less father figure and it shows alot of support and helps build hope and provides a sense of things are under control wether its true or not. so YES him getting there as soon as possible would be a help. the people want to know he cares how the heck would you feel if you lost everything even family in this and you finally get to watch tv and for the first week you were in hell the pres was playin golf. you would not be to happy dont say you would be. it is no different then him visitng the troops overseas. it just helps, someo f yall wouldnt know because most have never been threw a crisis or deployed over seas. trust me, he needs to be there. Deathray
The President represents the American People. By visiting the sites, he will show to the survivors that the people are supporting them and trying to help them. If you watched cnn while the airforce one was flying over the sites, even the news reporters saw the plane and had a moment of relief. For him to show up at the devestated areas, it will show that he cares for them since no one can hear about the thousands of soldiers moving in and the billions of dollars being poured in. They can just see devestation. It'll be interesting to see what locations he does actually land down on... It'd be daring if he landed in New Orleans, but realistically that is where the people probably need to see him the most since most people are stranded there. He left his vacation early and flew over to view the catastrophtwo daysb> ago. Not to mention his declaring the southern states disaster areabeforeb> Katrina made landfall so that FEMA would have plans and funds already in place. A place where looters have been shooting at rescue workers. Edited September 2, 2005 by Custom

One can hope...
Deathray
Ok now that you guys had a flamefest and talked enough ****, Whats with the picture? 586468417 it kinda looks like... or leads to the fact that he is with a survivor from katrina, when in fact, he has not been to any devestated area as in actually on the ground. He has flown over once, but nothing more, as of now. Tommorow will be different.

Vykranth
well dont know if iam correct but i remember seeing this picture during the 9/11 incident (i.e the man with the flag and the president) the Us president was visiting the affected site when this picture was clicked 586468135 I believe Techno Funky is right: this is a Photoshop-edited image of GWB with one of the firefighters after the attacks on the world trade center. +Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted September 2, 2005 Subscriber² Share Posted September 2, 2005 Now, it's a very fair comment to say that I am NOT Bush's biggest fan. In fact I think the guy is a blithering idiot who has very little positive to say - all the real work is done without him and he just bumbles to the podium to make a banal comment every so often. HOWEVER: I firmly believe that it would be very much the wrong call to send the President Of The USA, the Commander-in-Chief, straight into one of the most dangerous areas of America at the minute. This will be why he isn't being seen wading through sewage-infested waters and dodging looters bullets.
jon419
Can we get a link to the site this picture appears on? I could be wrong, but that picture looks to be the same one from someone at ground zero during 9/11 photoshopped onto a picture of the hurricane. Please prove me wrong with a direct link to the picture. Thanks. Edit, prove myself wrong. Picture I was looking for.
