What is this beta id used for? I tried going to the the beta site to login but it wouldn't work. This email pretty much just states that they got my request and nothing else correct?

I got this email long ago. It means that they have recognized you as a potential beta tester. If they select you for a beta program, then they will contact you later.

This is only an email you get when you fill in the Potential Testers survey. It's sent to tell you basically that you're on a waiting list for *whatever you wanted to test*.

The way I got choosen was to actually use the beta ID that you can find around the net. I originally just signed up using that survey however I was never choosen. Then I went ahead and I signed up for the OneCare and the Windows Installer beta by putting in the beta ID and I was choosen for both.
