site slowness?

Don't know what is up with neowin today but its going very slowly it sometimes takes over 2mins to open some pages :(

is there a problem with the server or something?

I know neowin gets busy but its still usally faster than this... :(

Sunday is backup day. Every Sunday (especially the morning) Neowin runs slow while they backup the database.

The site was running slow for me also. I was getting timeout errors but now everything seems to be working fine again. Since Sunday is backup day, I guess that would explain the slowness.

Well considering they have to backup a few GB's worth of mySQL, I should expect that it does take quite a long time.

Some weeks are slower than others. Not sure why.
