POWER
I have to agree with Blixkin on this one. At work I have an Athlon XP 1600+, Asus A7V333, 512 megs of PC2700 Ram and an older ATi Radeon 64meg DDR VIVO card (which is right on par with the card you're using), and in CounterStrike when someone throws a Smoke Grenade, my FPS drops like a mofo... In Dark Age of Camelot it gets really laggy in places too. I would say that the biggest thing that's probably making your system chunk, from personal experience, is the video card. Now at home, I have an ATi Radeon 8500, and when someone throws a Smoke Grenade it doesn't even phase me. There's a site selling them for about $120...excellent card for that price: www.ebccomputers.com If you got cash, the GeForce4 Ti4600's are wicked fast...or wait another month or so and ATi will have a new one out that will be faster than that. POWER
Couldn't hurt to space your speakers out a bit from the monitor, that's for sure. :D
Roger H. Veteran Posted July 9, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 9, 2002 no it's not bad since most speakers are magnetically sheilded. All new ones are so unless those speakers are like 10yrs old then i wouldn't worry....
