man4theladys
I checked my local computer store and for $845 I can get: 300w ATX Case Socket A Mobo AMD XP1600 512MB PC2100 DDR RAM 40 GIG 7200RPM HD NO VIDEO CARD (i already have a gf2mx 400 64mb, so i will still use that and upgrade later) Ethernet card 48x12x48 CDRW Some 3d sound board XP HOME SO is that a good deal? Or should I just go with a Dell or HP and take out the VC, add in my own, and add in my 384 SD RAM?
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted July 9, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 9, 2002 It depends on what the SOCKET A Mobo, 3d sound card and brand of ram, but not too bad it seems.
liar2
Sounds good to me. Sure the mobo will make a HUGE difference. But you can find a decent sound card for about $50 and a nice vid card when you feel like it.
lx qu33n
sounds like not a bad deal but like the others before me said the mobo makes a difference and so does what manufacturer the ram is from. and i would suggest going with pc3000 or pc2700 if ur mobo supports it.
