IPB flaw!

Question

Danellis

This has to be the strangest thing!

On my forum where I'm using the unlimited trial, I just decided to randomly put in a registration code and see what happens. Well I put in a code and suddenly I got "Registration Successful!" I then though "whoa! What the!" so I decided to try the copyright removal. Did that and it worked too! I then decided to try IP Chat and sure enough, that worked too!

The reason I'm posting this is because I'm a large supporter of IPS and want to remove the "registered to:" line and add back the copyright. I don't want to get in trouble for doing anything illegal but I have no idea what I should do :pinch:

Should I go to IPS and tell them about this?

Thanks,

Dan

P.S. If you want proof, go to www.fusiongfx.net and scroll right to the bottom!

What code did you put in? Sounds like a nulled version, but what code?

Where did you download the free trial? I've been looking for one of IPB 2.x.

For a limited time after the 2.0.0 release, there was a free trial you could download. They removed that, but some people have the trial still. Unfortunately, as a post like this got locked, I cannot nor nobody else can post a link.

Well on the IPS forums, the staff suggested I ran 2 mySQL queries however they didn't work. I'm not too bothered about it as long as IPS don't get angry at me. At the moment they don't seem be too bothered about it so I may just leave it as it is until they decide to contact me about it.

He said he entered the removal thing, so it may be there or just disabled.

On the ips forum, there is a way to revert. I posted mine too, and waiting for a response. After that. I'm going to revet back to the trial.

Exactly, Seriously. I was shocked. I posted where daniel posted. I did what I was told. I reverted. The registered to: line is gone. The copyright line is not back. And code red just guessed my code :o. I'm Quite shocked.
