First AIM 5.0 Skin:

Question

Ok, I figured out how to make my own skin for AIM 5.0 but it for some odd reason, it loads a site into the IM window instead of a image (exploits here we come). What I did was I downloaded a .arf file (theme file for aim I guess) and renamed it to a .zip and extracted the images and changed them. Edited the XML files and what not. I dont know what I did to make it load a site in there, but if anyone gets their own custom skin for aim, tell me!

alright, i went to the website where you can download the skins, and to apply them, it automatically downloads them and then puts them in your docs+settings/user/aim/resources/ directory. the simple way to do this is to copy and paste and change the follwing: :::: aim:GetExpression?URL=c:skinsaimskin.arf :::: into IE and change the path, and it should work for you automatically. good luck with it:)

The only good product AOL/Sisters has released is AIM4, Winamp 3, ICQLite, and the new Netscape. Though everything with AOL seems to be constant beta unless they ship it to you on CD.

By the way, I love seeing ICQ people flame about AIM. They're both owned by the same main company down the line, AOL.

I'd rather have 1826079 and be able to set my name to "colin" than have nuggetman4369436 and not be able to change how it shows up on the list.
