supernova_00
becuase we bump version numbers and went back to official branding a few days early (like we always do) to make sure no bugs are introduced by flipping those switches.

Waylander
can i make it leave my seaches alone? i changed them after i first downladed the nighlty[u but one of the updates seems to have added back US amazon and ebay searches as well as CC and yahoo and answers. easy enough to get rid of but the eabay and amazon ones are useless if your british so i would prefere it didnt touch the seaches i have installed. edit - just went to the folder where the files for the serch things are kept and most were not there although i can still run them in deer park, after i got rid of what i didnt want i was left with this yet these are all avalabe and work, can anyone explain this? supernova_00
with a full release the default search plugins will be installed again. but with incremental updates those only patch what was changed from release to release, so unless a search plugin was updated the ones you had will stay the same. now since this release is first with the binary patching, your search plugins will be back to default (except for ones you may have added) but every update after will keep the same as you had it. Malisk
Thanks :) ... but what's new? 586490068[/snapback] The sum of everything listed here should be the most noticeable things: http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/releases/1.5a1.html (new stuff in alpha 1) http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/releases/1.5a2.html (new stuff in alpha 2) http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/releases/1.5b1.html (new stuff in beta 1) Pay attention to the improved back/forward speed for example :)

supernova_00
no its not, don't you think it would be posted on mozilla.org first? yes. Beta 1 might not be out today since we had another respin today because of patches we took in this morning. So right now we released some release candidates and probably Beta 1 tomorrow. Again BETA 1 is NOT out!

CoolCatBad
Thursday September 8th, 2005 Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 Released If you want your extensions to work you need to bump up the maxversion number in install.rdf. Clean install the beta, then download the extensions-do not install them directly. Open them with an archive manager (ALZip handles .xpi well) and extract install.rdf to a temp folder. Open with Notepad or similar and change the line <em:maxVersion>1.x</em:maxVersion> to <em:maxVersion>1.4</em:maxVersion> Save the file and add back to the archive, overwriting the original. Now drag the .xpi to the Extension Manager.

shake
With this version I had several extensions that was disabled as not being compatible. I wanted to share an extension that will make these extensions work for you so you don't have to edit files to get them working. It's easy to do. It's called Nightly testers tools.Edit: They are right this is a nightly, but I thought I would post this for when you need it. What you'll do is right click on the "incompatible" extensions in the EM and I think it's called enable or make compatible.. something like that. and then it will work. 586489121[/snapback] How do you use this extension?? I have installed it but i cant figue out how to use it
CoolCatBad
Which extensions do you need? I will bump them up if you want.
shake
i got the extensions working now .. thanx any way. Seems like this one has inhereted the same problems the deer park alpha version had .. like when I move a tab, it screws up all the other tabs .. I cant see their content as its overridden by the moved tab. However this a beta afterall and i hope they get rid of this issue
IceDogg
Would like to say that over at TEM they are starting to update extensions. So be patient use the workarounds or just wait a little while (before installing this beta) and most extensions should be updated soon. Just keeping you posted. drgrudge
I am back to 1.0.6 :( All the extentions and the walnut theme dint work. When I tried that nightly testers extension.. FX acted strange.. no BAR (the top one and the windows bottom one) was there, ie it opened in full screen and dint work also. :o Now I am back to 1.0.6 :( :( I posted the same at BPN also :D
IceDogg
It worked for the extensions I had. What extensions do you use drgrudge? Also I would advise against upgrading to 1.5 beta then using the SAME profile and going back to 1.0.X lots of problems have happened to users doing that. You might screw your profile for good. Just a friendly warning to everyone.
drgrudge
I use: adblock v. 5 d2 nighty 39 ( i know that's not the latest, but It works like a charm in my FX) Autocopy 0.5.0 BBcode 0.4 Tab X 0.5 bugmenot 0.7 Define word 0.5.1 Tweak network 1.0 Bookmark backup .3.3 & nightly testers I also have mouse gestures, foxytunes, gmail notifier, and in total some 14-15 extensions. But I care for the above 9 extension only (I mean, I cant browse without them :D) I also had Walnut theme 1.2.2 also, with no other theme. In the above, these three worked with the 1.5 b1 Walnut theme 1.2.2 bugmenot 0.7 adblock I think I used the nightly testers on the above three also, so it might not have worked... Plz help, I want to try out 1.5 :(
