bangbang023 Veteran Posted September 7, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 7, 2005 No. The trunk (which this is from) is heading towards 2.0.
krishna
Cool... Thanks Just curious though ... what about FF 1.5 beta 1 which just released, will that be part of FF 2.0? if so, then why two trunks? Edit: What happened to Deer Park Alpha2 Project? where will that lead to? Too many FF's
IceDogg
Cool...Thanks Just curious though ... what about FF 1.5 beta 1 which just released, will that be part of FF 2.0? if so, then why two trunks? Edit: What happened to Deer Park Alpha2 Project? where will that lead to? Too many FF's    586499423[/snapback] Deer Park alpha 1 & 2 were leading toward Firefox 1.5 beta. They named it Deer Park so that people wouldn't call it "hey they have Firefox 1.5 beta out" which didn't work they did it a few days early anyway. But that was the reason for the Deer Park name. The Trunk is now heading toward Firefox 2.0 And the branch is not really another trunk, but it's also heading toward Firefox 1.5. Less landings (patches) are happening on the Branch because it's getting close to the final for Firefox 1.5 and is suppose to be more stable. I hope I explained that good enough. :) I know it can be confusing!
krishna
Should I then upgrade Deer Park Alpha2 to FF 1.5 beta1? Or Is FF 1.5 beta 1 is based off of Trunk? In other words if I use firefox-1.6a1.en-US.win32.zip then I'm ahead of the game then using FF 1.5 beta1?

For instance, a few weeks ago, it had a built in RSS feed renderer much like the one in IE7.
kl33per
Let's try and put this simply. Trunk is the latest and greatest and is heading towards 2.0. Deer Park is Firefox 1.5. If you want stability, but would like to help Mozilla test the beta, go with Firefox 1.5 Beta 1. If you want bleeding edge, go with the latest truink build.
