Denis W. Veteran Posted September 8, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 8, 2005 Open up Wikipedia. For the font used in Wikipedia: - Opera uses Verdana, font sizes 8 and 10 points. - Firefox and IE use Arial. Firefox retains font sizes like Opera, where IE just uses 10 point font sizes (i.e. notice the toolbox rendered on all browsers) Which browser uses the correct font? I noticed this behaviour on at least one other site when comparing Opera and Firefox.
grimman
Check out what the stylesheet has to say about that. =)
Denis W. Veteran Posted September 8, 2005 Author Veteran Share Posted September 8, 2005 I haven't designed any web pages (well apart from using the WYSIWYG editors), so would you care to explain?
Veiva
I think any font the browser considers Serif.
grimman
From what I could see, and I only checked the style sheet, the site uses Sans Serif, Times+"Times New Roman" and Serif to display the content. Vague definitions, which is probably a good thing. However that now puts the decision in the hands of your browser and/or OS. In other words, both browsers are doing the right thing here. ;>
