I go with messenger also because most of my folks use it and if it aint broke...

they (and I) dont see a need to play around with diffrent IMs, 99% we just chat dont know/care about the other features like video and voice, chat is chat

Because GTalk has only just been released, most of my contacts are still oblivious to the fact that it exists.

Ive been slowly migrating them to GTalk. So therefore I use both messengers

i only use MSN Messenger, i used to have MSN Messenger and ICQ (back in the days) and i got sick of having 2 programs to chat so i droped ICQ.... i tried those multi network apps but nener liked them since they didnt offer ALL the features from each network

Since back in the day everyone used ICQ and nowadays its mostly MSN I use 'Miranda IM'. It also supports gTalk with the jabber protocol.

It does not have ALL features of the 'real' clientes but all I need is the basic message bit and Miranda supports that just fine. Its also very very small if you conf it right (takes up like a 1/4 of desktop space compared to MSN). And its opensource. I love opensource :) I have tried other mulit IMs like Trillian, but Miranda is waaay better!

Miranda IM

Available protocols: ICQ, AIM, MSN, Jabber(gTalk), IRC, Yahoo, Gadu-Gadu, Tlen, Netsend, and more

Hoe to get gTalk in Miranda

I haven't used Google Talk since I first downloaded it. It's actually kind of a let down if you ask me. Sure it provides the basics of an IM, but it doesn't provide enough to keep me interested.

MSN Messenger I use much more then GoogleTalk and I think it will most likely stay like that.

If Google hadn't created it, I'm sure GoogleTalk wouldn't be as popular.
