Please post your comments on this laptop. I think it's pretty nice for the price, although just about the only thing I can upgrade is the RAM and things through USB. Darn. I just realized that there's no Firewire for an external Maxtor HD..

i'm just gonna use it for everyday surfing, multimedia stuff, just about everything except graphic design, programming, or video editing, and not too much gaming unless I install some game that runs really good.

But I can't find a laptop with those specs or better for that price.

what's the fascination with Dell? they're expensive and heavy as hell.

IBM I can understand due to their warranty policy....

imho, yes it's a nice laptop for everyday work. biggest concerns would be:

battery

warranty

keyboard layout (don't laugh...)

I guess i'm not gonna buy it because I have no use for it, except that it'll help me be on the computer more than I already do since it's portable. Also, I have bought so many things for my desktop computer that i'm on now that can't be transferred to the laptop (TV Card, Firewire Card, and a bunch of USB stuff). I think i'm gonna get a nice fast desktop computer because it is easily upgradable and all of my peripherals will work fine in it. When it comes time for college (2 years) then I'll get a laptop.
