brn2prgrm
Right now I have a p3 565mhz with 512mb RAM and a Diamond Stealth III S540. Now if I were to get a Geforce4 ti4200, would my processor be able to feed it quick enough in that I would actually notice a big difference? Im talking about apps like WindowsFX and games. Right now my video card doesn't support hardware acceleration or OpenGL so it kindda sucks. Thanks ahead of time!
brn2prgrm
hmm, anyone? If the Geforce4 ti4200 isn't the right card, then what would you guys recommend. As I said before I want something with good hardware acceleration since I like to customize my desktop heavily.
HoboCop
youll see improvement just you wont be using that geforce to its full potential... so buy sumthing less like a geforce 2 or 3...
JK1150
as long as you get the AGP one, should be fine
sailgreg
I would get a geforce 2 mx 400, that should be the most you can use and it is a good card. You can get them pretty chep these days to :)
Joswin
Could that be the worst advise ever? :ponder: Don't waste your money on a Geforce2 MX (they are tat), get your GF4 ti (it will give you a large improvment over what you have now) and then at least if you get a newer system later or something you can pop it in and get more performance . :) Apart from that if your not interested in games at all, the Matrox G550 comes highly recommended. brn2prgrm
Yeah, I was thinking of getting a ti because im going to be upgrading my processor and motherboard soon, so I don't want a cheap one just for the specs I got now.
manroweb
Definitely get the GeForce 4 Ti. It might not work at its full potential with your P3, but it will be better than a GeForce 2 or 3. When you decide to upgrade your motherboard/processor, you will not be losing graphics performance by having a slower graphics card (GF2/3)
