Master Shake
Just wondering how many people have ruined a keyboard. I spilled beer on a Logitech one last year and a couple buttons didn't work after that.
jimbo12141
yeh i get a bit of food or water on it sometimes, but it seems to be allways fine!!
Master Shake
Food is bad for these things... I wish they were easier to clean. I can see all kinds of crap on the sides of the keys. You can really see dust if you have a black one.

samg
i havnt spilt anything, but i eat at my desk at work every day. Every so often i turn it over and loads of crums fall out, its horrible. I recently read somewhere that a keyboard contains more germs than a toilet seat, as the keyboards hardly ever cleaned (i assume this is a generalisation, dont say "Mines not!, cos i dont care about you)
Nexus
Yeah. It happens alot. I spill food, coffee, etc... But I just take the keyboard and throw it in the dishwasher and wash it monthly.

Master Shake
Do you have to have a special kind of keyboard to be able to throw it in the washer?

Kupo-Cheer
The title of the thread gave me some weirded out thoughts... but actually I have spilled water on my keyboard and its the very same keyboard I'm typing to you all with today. No damage done to it whatsoever. Good ole' logitech. I guess water doesn't make such a mess but it still can ruin the keyboard so thats why I posted. MrMB
To quote a rather nasty joke. What do you get from a love affair with computers? Sticky Keyboards.
JiveMasterT
i just rebuilt a brand new iMac keyboard someone was throwing out because it had oil and vinegar spilt in it. i had to redo some of the connections (hershey's bar wrappper), but other than that, im good to my keyboards. HawkMan
hmmm a few times. my older MS keyboard was very easy to clean, it's as if it was designed to be spilled on. wich the keys buils do you can't get anythign spilled into the electronics or such, and holes at the bottom where anythgin spilled can run out. very well designed for that. my newer logitech is hell to clean if you spill on it though. but I forgive it anywya as Logitechs are better anyway, and don't have the silly 2 key wide insert/delete/... row. and the even sillier grouped by 3 Fx keys. Master Shake
Porn can be very dangerous for keyboards. I've had many stuck keys in my day.

b0m8er
Once, poured Coke on it... and brillaint idea came to my mind - dry it with a hairdryer... :p Well... it melted buttons a little. Thanks god it was a cheapo keyboard, so I just bought a new one and never had an accident ever since.
