surprised that answer only made it in here once, haha.

Newp, I've never spilled anything on my keyboard....yet *crosses fingers*

hopefully I wont, either, cuz I dont think these keys would go back on if I had to take them off, unless I used two-part epoxy :p

All the time, I eat lot of sleazy food over it and I often spill chip dip... and when I have dandruff problems I let it all go over the keyboard, then sometimes I jerk off over it and it has hair beetween almost every key and it's all glossy from grease... Then I take it over to LAN parties and let people play on it

Porn can be very dangerous for keyboards.  I've had many stuck keys in my day.

Its not as nice or anything, but hey, it works lol

I have, many times. Dishwasher alwasys helps.

Just put your keyboard in your dish washer, and turn it on full cycle. After it's done, let it rest upside down on a towel for a few hours. It's helped me quite a lot.

Soda spill. Lucky the Microsoft Multimedia Natural keyboard I spilled it on was made for that sort of accident. I took it apart, washed everything that was large and wasn't electronic and meticulously cleaned every key. It took a few hours but once it dried and was put back together it worked perfectly. No sticking keys or funk in my keyboard. It works perfectly to this day.

This thread reminds me of a bash.org quote that's in the top 100 (I would link to it but it has profanity).

Anyways, no I haven't. I'm usually pretty careful.

for really? Or are you just joking?

Yeah, my Microsoft Wireless Keyboard is so dirty. It has dirt and food bits in between every key. The number 2 key was so sticky because i spilled some chocolate topping over it, but it's ok now. The keyboard still works after 2 years of having it.

I have a i-Rocks low profile keyboard. I spilt jelly crystals all over it. The problem was that the plastic springs all attracted crystals with static electricity so I could get them off and wreck the electronic touch sensor (normal keyboards use a mechanical touch sensor) or leave them there. I left em there and for the first few weeks all the keys went crunch, some broke but most survived.

  • 6 months later...

Spilled milk and pop on it a couple times before. Took it apart and washed everything except for the circuit board part. Everything still worked except for the caps lock light.
