IE...

hi everyone

ok ill get straight to the point.

say i get an email in msn messenger. i clik on the popup, and its supposed to take me to my hotmail inbox...correct?

ok..well..today i got an email, clicked the popup, it went to my inbox [in IE] and then after about 2 secs IE just exited.

so i opened IE manually this time, typed hotmail.com in, signed in and after about 2 secs of signing in again.

Ive got IE 6, and the problem occurs only in hotmail and not on any other site.

[also, if i sign into the msn site and then click the hotmail link once im signed in the same thing happens]

on top of this, the problem doesnt occur in Firefox or Opera, only IE

Look over into Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer in CPanel. Look in the System Events part, if it says any error about IE, then post it here or go to the link it provides. That's how I usually detect sudden program exits or crashes.

I've seen this several times; It's usually caused by MSN Messenger trying to link into the hotmail interface and screwing up

But lets start simple, Try deleting your temporary internet files and cookies and resetting all the settings in IE to default, If it

still happens proceed with the next steps

THE NEXT STEPS:

Try uninstalling MSN Messenger then goto 'C:\Program Files' and delete(If it's there) the 'MSN Messenger' directory

Then without reinstalling goto Hotmail manually and see if it still happens, whether it still happens or not

you'll want to reinstall MSN Messenger
