Inertia
Microsoft's track record with IE is far from good. Just because its the most widely used doesn't make it quality software. 586523045 Just because bugs are found, doesnt mean it isnt, other less used browsers have bugs which arent found, at least microsofts browser gets stronger as they are discovered. The same can be said for operating systems, who waants to dig for vulnrabilitys in safari when IE is so much more used ? Evidence: Fiurefox was "the ultimate secure web browser, everyone needs to use it instead of IE" hardly any bugs were found in it, and very very few security bugs, so people listened, firefox got more popular, and surprise surprise, the amount of security bugs found increased in proportion to the browsers user base. ev0|
they better make it so that you can move all the tasks bars in this version, i want the top looking like IE6, but with tabs and a button for rss etc, apart from that i was fairly impressed, want more customisation in Tools like in firefox 1.5 beta 1, lots of new settings to change were added. 586521130 They can't. It's done like that for a very good reason : maximum compatiblity with add ins that make assumptions about the windowframe. Just get used to it already. I don't even notice anymore. They're gonna be gone in vista, anyway.
riceboyler
Just as a note, I asked the direct question of when we would see IE7 B2 in the Web Platform Discussion Panel on Friday at PDC (yeah, I was the one who made the joke about the huge back button) and the reply was that there would be a B1 Refresh first, and B2 after that. The sessions I went to about IE7 show that they really seem to be dedicated to fixing what was wrong, and bringing quite a few new improvements to the browser. Oh, and they hinted that there would be an IE8 on Friday morning... Hmmmmm! :D Oh, and the PDC 5219 Build of Vista does NOT have B2, or even a refresh. Unfortunately the Page Zoom doesn't even seem to be there, and that's a feature I'm very much looking forward to (along with the multitab thumbnail view.
