rec_kris
i have to log into my universities website on a daily basis to download homework/email/notices. they required somewhere around a 16 letter/number/symbol password and it is just a real bitch to enter it every single time i visit any of the unviersities student websites. with browsers now implementing mouse gestures, i was wondering if any had the support to use a gesture that would enter your username with one gesture, and password with the next. if not, is there mouse gestuer software that allows for custom macros to be used for specific keystrokes ? TheTerminator
Not sure, and for what browser? Plus, wouldnt you have to program all this in at every computer you go to sit at?
Liandros
i know that in opera there is an option that will automaticly fill in username information but not passwords. you can set your browser to remember the password and user name and when you get to that part that you have to type it in, it will automaticly be filled in. this is what i do for alot of my websites. rec_kris
@ TheTerminator - i only log onto the website from my apartment and for firefox or opera @ liandros - the remember my password function does not work on this server and the magic wand in opera is not what i am looking for. i want something so that i can gesture RIGHT>UP or something and have it input the username, then RIGHT>DOWN for the pass. . . you know? +unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted September 13, 2005 Subscriber¹ Share Posted September 13, 2005 If you are using opera then both the username and password should be stored in the wand. There are a few ways of entering this information onto the page, you can: gesture right gesture right + shift gesture right + gesture up flipforward (hold left mouse button and press the right button) filpforward + shift if your mouse has one press the forward button spacebar - this scrolls down the page (if it's a long page) and when it gets to the end forwards to the next page (which if it contains any usernames and pwords stored in the wand get filled in) ALT + right arrow key CTRL + right arrow key X X + shift or the old favourite CTRL + ENTER

STNG
with browsers now implementing mouse gestures, i was wondering if any had the support to use a gesture that would enter your username with one gesture, and password with the next. if not, is there mouse gestuer software that allows for custom macros to be used for specific keystrokes ? This can be done with Opera browser 1. Opera Wand feature (Password manager). http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/flash/wand/ You can set up Wand function to any mouse gesture you want. Go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Shortcuts -> Mouse setup -> Edit. In section "Document Window" create new unused gesture, for example "GestureLeft, GestureRight" with action: Wand Save settings (press 'OK'). Now you can execute gesture Left-Right for auto insert Wand passwords. 2. Other way. You can set special mouse gestures or keyboard shortcuts for insert login and password to forms. Go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Shortcuts -> Mouse setup -> Edit. In section "Document Window" create new gesture, for example "GestureLeft, GestureRight" with action: insert, "YOUR_USERNAME_HERE" & Focus next widget Create other new gesture in "Document Window" section, for example "GestureRight, GestureLeft" with action: Insert, "YOUR_PASSWORD_HERE" & Focus next widget Save settings. Now you can: - Use gesture Left-Right for insert you username - Use gesture Right-Left for insert you password - Focus automatically will be set on "Submit" button. So just press SPACE button on keyboard for submit your authorization data. Hope it help. Edited September 13, 2005 by STNG
