Mouse or Trackball?

Recommended Posts

I use the Microsquish optical mouse and am very happy with it. I haven't used a trackball long enough to get used to it, though an engr I used to work with loved his Logitech trackball.

I guess it depends on the person.

for games they do

Yes, you are right. I had an optical - I returned it. I got tired of always having to adjust my arm and hand. I like to recline my chair and put the trackball in my lap - and with a slight movement of my thumb........i'm there. Call me lazy but, with a mouse, after several hrs., my shoulder would bug me.

Man i dont know what you people are talking about! Trackballs put you in a complete 360 environment, kicks ass for games and photoshop, thats all i need :)

I use a mouse, but i think i'll blend in with using a trackball easily and quickly, since it sounds very comfortable to use, no hand movemen,t only thumb...i've tried it once before tho, not very bad, but i'd prefer a mouse.

My friends been using a trackball mouse for years. He bought one because he liked the feel when playing stratigie games with it. But i think it sucks in FPS. Thats why he brings out his old mouse in FPS games.

Personally i like to use my MS Explorer 3.0

I like its design and i have good control over the mouse buttons.

personally i hate trackballs, they just dont give you the control or precision of a mouse. for me its like writing with my left (or in some cases right) hand

btw get a logitech or ms mouse

I had a trackball for about 7 months, it took about a week but once i got used to it i could play CS with the best of em once again. The only problems i had (Microsoft Trackball Optical) was when you used 'small' movements it tended to jump/skip around (in windows and games) and also it didnt half give you thumb ache if you use the PC as much as me. :) In the end i switched back to a convential mouse (optical). Maybe its best to have both types? :)
