The Everglide mouse mat is excellent, well worth it's price tag. I've got an Everglide Gigantica, black with a Quake 3 symbol on it and it absolutely rules. My railgun (Quake 3) hits doubled when I got it and even though I now have an optical mouse (which nearly doubled my hit rate again), it's a great pad.

A couple of tips for Everglide mouse mat buying:

- Don't get one with a symbol. As cool as the quake 3 symbol looks, it's a pain as it wears off and gtets on your mouse's corner pads or worse, gets stuck around the pad and needs washed off. Get a plain one and you're fine.

- If you have a battery powered mouse (eg. cordless) which is optical, don't get a dark colour as this needs more light for the motion sensor to work and it will drain your batteries at a surprising rate.

I could not recommend anything over this baby, even if it was 4x the price of a normal mat.

EDIT: Nice sig :D

EDIT2: Had a look at their site and it looks like Quake 3 ones are no longer available. Oh well. The symbol at the bottom right are fine as you never use that area (at least I don't).

My fave mouse pad is one I got about 10 yrs ago. It has a VERY nice muscular blond guy wearing Speedos. He's got a bit of sweat on him and he's holding a volleyball.

I guess the pad itself is ok. Never really bothered with how well it works with my mouse.

anita, thinking that more mousepads should be made with hunky guys on them
