saiz66
When I started firefox today I got a screen where I could choose a user profile. I made one and it started firefox. I was wondering how I could get that user profile screen again? Thanks!!!!
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted September 14, 2005 Global Moderator Share Posted September 14, 2005 ahh the dreaded user profile screen.. this happens when firefox crashes, and messed up, but it's still running under your taskmanager. you need to KILL this "firefox.exe" task, and then restart firefox.. never create a new profile.. it will go away if you kill firefox.exe. im not sure how to get back to it.. crash firefox? planetik
Start> Run> "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -profilemanager Change whatever is necessary :)
saiz66
^ I tried that and it just opened Firefox normally.
planetik
Thats because you already have an instance of firefox open. You can only have 1 profile loaded at one time

olavinto
I suggest that you create a bookmark in your start menu under "Mozilla Firefox" program group. Thunderbird creates an icon for the profile manager when it is istalled but for some unknown reason Firefox doesn't. I always do it as the first thing after installing Firefox. Just create a dublicate of the Firefox -icon in there, rename it to Profile Manager, open it's properties and add a -p or -profilemanagera into the end of it. It will then look like this: "C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe -p" (assuming that you have done a default install).
