Well, not everyone can get to test Vista. They need people testing various stuff. If it was up to the user to select, everyone would pick Vista and other products would get 0 testing.

Yeah I've just been offered that too:

This site provides a preview of the first version of Microsoft's Compute Cluster Solution for supercomputing. Please note, you must have 64-bit server hardware to participate in this beta.

How appropriate for me...

Nope it's in the list of "Available Programs" when i sign into connect.

Wierd, because Im sure at some point MS assessed my hardware/computing environment, they should know that I dont have a 64bit supercomputer.

Yea...I've beta tested **** load of stuff for Microsoft...directx, office, windows, etc....I've been out of the game for a year or so....so I registered with Connect two months ago...not getting anything to test...and then this...While I did apply because I could use this...I was really geared towards the big betas. But t'is true...they can't have everyone testing those. Tisk tisk

How is supercomputer cluster related software not big?

I have it on available programs, but I'm not going to sign up as I dont have 1 64bit machine, let alone enough for a cluster to test this on :(

You cluster to perform large task. Like, I'm decrypting information...you can do complex mathmatical calculations, prediction calculations, etc....all of which require some 'horse power' if you will.

My 'big betas' term I threw around should have been 'mainstream betas'. I love them all...

Quit whining. If you want Vista so bad. Then go get it for yourself in a torrent or something, and crash your computer trying to run it. You're not missing that much.

By the way, Microsoft doesn't "want" you to test it, since it's available to almost everybody in the Available Programs page.
