The house I'm living in was bought for ~$300,000. Today it's worth well over $425,000. I'll be hanging onto this property for a little while longer and then cash-in ... I have friends on the West Coast I havn't seen in ages and am dying to catch up with them (and live there).

Agreed.  Brampton has developed it's own stereotypes and 'nick names' (none of which are appropriate to mention here).

Brampton is not part of the city of Toronto (no, not even the mega city).  Brampton is Brampton.

I haven't been to Brampton in years. I gather it has changed. I was referring to the "old" Brampton.

I am pretty sure that "Greater Toronto Area" and "Mega City" are descriptions of two sets of borders. Brampton is part of the GTA, but it isn't part of the City of Toronto (the Mega City).

Edit

How Toronto became "The Megacity": The City of Toronto Act in 1996 incorporated a new municipality known as The City of Toronto. This amalgamation of the Borough of East York along with the Cities of Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, Toronto, and York became known as The Megacity, and home to TheMegacity.Com!

Sad but true, its insane the prices around here. In north van its impossible to find a house under 500,000... 1,000,000+ for something really nice. It's sad to know ill have to be a millionaire just to move back into my own neighbourhood

Well,

I was born in Toronto, Ontario (Jane and Wilson area). I lived there for about 12 years.

I moved just outside Toronto, near Pearson airport. A little town named Malton.

School isn't out in BC yet... I expect as kids get out of school across the board we'll see more-accurate results.
